Obituary of Abby Greenblatt
Abby Greenblatt June 14, 2008 - June 1, 2025 Abby also known as Abbs, Belly Girl & Abby Girl was a loving cat who was a part of our lives for almost 17 years. As a kitten, she had blue eyes and was named after Abby Wambach and her sister, Mia was named after Mia Hamm (we are huge soccer fans). In her younger days, she was a bit mischievous. She liked water and the sound of water. Abby liked to soak her paws in her water dish (like Madge from the Palmolive commercials). Also, she would stick her paws under the bathroom door whenever she heard her human in the shower. Abby liked to greet her humans at the front door by flopping down and getting her belly rubbed. Thus, the name, Belly Girl. Abby was also a girlie girl who liked shiny things. Once she came walking down the stairs with a gold necklace in her mouth. If she was caught playing with a toy and having fun and someone laughed, she wouldn’t play with that toy again. She got the name of Abby the Flying Cat one summer day when she came running into the 2nd floor bedroom, jumped on the bed, then onto the cedar chest and into the open window where she and the window screen fell two stories out the window and into the back yard. She sprained her elbow and had to visit the veterinarian. Abby also loved to eat and was caught more than once eating her littermate, Mia’s food. You could always find her laying in a sunbeam or sitting by the screen door to “talk” to the birds. As she crossed the Rainbow Bridge, she has been reunited with her sister, Mia. Together they are both running with each other and enjoying sunbeams in Heaven. She has left a huge hole in our hearts and will be forever missed by her cat dad, Michael, Eileen, her mama, Mary and Craig.
