Obituary of Sparky Jack Curry
SPARKY JACK CURRY CAT (Sparky / Sparks) 2014 – June 27, 2024 When Sparky came to me in 2018, he wasn’t very old and already had a rough time on the streets. He had wonderful big paws and head. He would rather be petted than eat so I had to give him a big hug first. I took him to the vet and he was fine. Since it was still cold, I kept him in the hall to recover. One of his new siblings would come out and visit. When he recovered I opened the door and told him he could go out. He stepped out, looked at me and ran back in the house. He had found his forever home!!! I have greatly loved all of my “kids” over the years, but Sparky was different – very seldom was he far from me – “Velcro Cat” as a friend of mine called him. He sat right next to me when I said my daily prayers, he sat on me, slept with me and took over my pillow. He had an angelic presence and I know God sent him to us for a reason. He loved his siblings and they taught him to play-he didn’t know what a KITTY TOY was. He ate well and loved good snacks like real roasted chicken breast. He had very bad teeth and developed stomatitis. The only thing to be done was pull all of his teeth and treat the inflammation. After healing he was able to eat normally. He developed diabetes in fall of 2023 so daily blood readings and insulin. But he did well; he was a strong little guy. In 2024, he developed an ear infection and tumor; the only treatment was TECA BO surgery which removed the ear. He fought to recover from that only to get an infection in his throat which nothing seemed to touch. He was being fed by hand but could not swallow or breathe normally. It was time to send him back to God. Sparky is survived by his human mom, Patti and siblings Tootie Joy and Jackie Rose, along with extended family and friends. As he crossed Rainbow Bridge he got to meet all of his family that went before. A special thanks to all of his vets and their staffs, Michelle Brownstein (Ret); Dr. Bob Lann (Rochester) and Dr. Melanie Burkard (Buffalo). Rest in Peace my little love –we will all be together again one day…….
